Qatari Emir’s Message to Iranian Leader Submitted

A00870805.jpgTEHRAN (FNA)- Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim al-Thani here Thursday submitted to an Iranian top official the Qatari Emir’s message to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.

In the meeting prior to his departure on Thursday, al-Thani told Iranian Supreme Leader’s Advisor for International Affairs Ali-Akbar Velayati that cooperation between Iran and Qatar in key regional issues can help solve Palestinian people’s problems and settle differences in Lebanon.

Velayati for his part said relations and cooperation among regional states will help maintain security.

He said foreigners would not then be able to have an eye on regional people’s interests.

He added that Iran and Qatar can jointly play an effective role in solving problems of the Palestinian people and help the besieged Gazans.

Al-Thani left Tehran on Thursday along with his entourage after a two-day visit.

The Qatari premier was accompanied by Qatari ministers of energy, industries, finance, advisor and foreign affairs.

During the two-day visit, Iranian ministers of power, oil, foreign affairs, industries and mines, finance and economic affairs as well as head of the Organization of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism held talks with their Qatari counterparts.

The Qatari prime minister held discussions with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and other senior officials on issues of mutual interests.
