 TEHRAN (FNA)- The European Parliament President, Hans-Gert Pottering, praised Iran’s crucial and undeniable position in the region and the world.
In a meeting with Iran’s ambassador to Belgium Ali Asghar Khaji in Brussels, Pottering referred to Iran’s rich history and culture and stressed the importance for the European Union of maintaining amicable ties with Tehran, press tv reported.
Khaji, for his part, said that adoption of resolutions and illogical stances on Iran’s nuclear program are wrong and unhelpful, adding that negotiations and cooperation are the best solution to the case.
Pointing to the ongoing events in the Gaza Strip, the envoy called on the international community to react in a serious manner to the crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the Palestinian people.
