Ahmadinejad: Faith Key to Global Problems

A02329172.jpgTEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said global problems can only be resolved if the followers of monotheistic faiths work together to overcome them.“There would be an end to injustice if true theism spreads around the world. The followers of monotheistic faiths need strong determination to spread and utilize this notion,” Ahmadinejad was quoted by the press tv as saying in a meeting with the Vatican’s new Ambassador to Tehran, Archbishop Jean Paul Gobel.

“Muslims and Christians can play an effective part in establishing peace, stability, and brotherhood around the world,” he added.

Ahmadinejad also commented on recent insults directed at the prophets of god, saying “no trace of decent human behavior can be found in those responsible for such actions, as they seek their survival in the quagmire of conflict”.

He then called on the Pope to take a firm stance against the “atrocities” and “massacres” being carried out around the world.

For his part, Jean Paul Gobel said Iran and the Vatican must work together to ensure the best interests of the international community.

He also said Muslims and Christians are united on various fronts such as the condemnation of recent insults towards Islam and the Holy Qur’an. The enemies of humanity must know that freedom of speech does not mean that they are free to offend others, said the archbishop.
