GAZA (Reuters) – The Israeli military killed two Hamas militants and two Palestinian civilians on Wednesday in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip, medical workers said.
A gunman was killed by an Israeli air strike during a ground raid near Khan Younis, in the southern part of the territory, the medical workers said. An Israeli military spokeswoman confirmed the strike.
Separately, Israeli soldiers shot dead an 18-year-old Palestinian during an incursion near Jabalya refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip, the medical workers said.
An Israeli air strike in the northern Gaza Strip killed a Hamas gunman and a civilian, medical workers said. The military spokeswoman said she was checking the report.
Israel frequently raids the coastal enclave in what it calls an effort to stop cross-border rocket attacks.
Egypt is mediating a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, but progress has been stalled by disagreement over the scope of the truce.
