Iranian Ambassador to Bangladesh Hassan Farazandeh made the remarks during a meeting on Thursday with Bangladeshi Commerce and Education Adviser Hossain Zillur Rahman.

Under a five-year bilateral trade agreement signed in 2005, Iran imported goods worth US$ 50.18 million from Bangladesh in 2006-07 fiscal year while exporting goods worth US$ 37.09 million to Bangladesh.

The Adviser thanked the envoy for Tehran’s eagerness to boost trade relations with Bangladesh, and further stressed the need for the two sides to identify new fields for expanding bilateral trade.
