Georgia says recalling its ambassador from Russia

TBILISI (Reuters) – Georgia is to recall its ambassador from Russia for consultations, Georgia’s foreign minister said on Thursday, after Moscow said its fighter jets had entered Georgian airspace.

“We will take some aggressive diplomatic steps in order to respond adequately to Russia’s actions. One such step is that from today, we are recalling our ambassador in Russia for consultations,” Foreign Minister Ekaterine Tkeshelashvili told reporters at a news briefing.
