TEHRAN, (ISNA)-The Algerian foreign minister Mourad Medelci and four other ministers of Algeria arrived in Tehran on Saturday to prepare the grounds for the visit of Algeria’s president Abdul- Aziz Bouteflika.
The Algerian delegation was welcomed by foreign minister Manouchehr Mottaki.
Algerian officials will meet their Iranian counterparts to discuss expansion of ties.
Bouteflika will step into Tehran today in a few hours to respond president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s tour to Algeria that took place last year.
Iran’s ambassador to Algiers Hussein Abdi Abianie has said that Iran and Algeria will discuss establishment of a forum for gas exporting countries similar to Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
