Russian leaders hold meeting on South Ossetia

MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russia’s president, prime minister, defense minister and top generals on Monday attended a meeting on the military situation in Georgia’s breakaway region of South Ossetia, a Kremlin spokesman said.

He gave no details of the meeting. Russian news agencies said the meeting took place in the command centre of Russia’s Armed Forces’ General Staff headquarters.
