Iran’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan Romin Mehmanparast made the remarks at the opening ceremony of an exhibition on “Iran’s Oil and Gas Potentials “.

According to him, Iran’s biggest gas and oil extraction companies and refineries are presented at the exhibition.

The diplomat further stressed the need for Iran, Kazakhstan and other Caspian states to devise a joint exploration and navigation project.

“We should develop seaport infrastructure,” he added.

Mehmanparast also stated that three Iranian ports are signing a sisterhood document with Kazakhstan’s Aktau port.

“Very soon we will open our general consulate in Aktau, which will facilitate application and granting of visas for the citizens of both countries,” he said, adding that the presence of the Iranian mission in Aktau would enable closer cooperation between Iran and Kazakhstan.
