Embargo, threat not effective policy: Qashqavi

Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Qashqavi said on Monday that embargo and threat are not effective policy in dealing with international issues. Talking to reporters during his weekly press briefing, he said, “The world major media have admitted that the US policy on Iran has failed, therefore they should accept the reality and nuclear Iran.” He further noted, “They should be ready to recognize our legal rights while we are ready to remove their concerns through interaction.”
Qashqavi referred to previous US and the West approach toward Iran’s peaceful nuclear program as “failed and reactionary”.

What US president-elect Barack Obama has said is the same policy of carrot and stick, Qashqavi said, stressing that he should change the previous approach on the basis of his motto of “change”.
