Iran not to Attend Persian Gulf Security Conference

TEHRAN (FNA)- Chairman of the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said the commission’s rapporteur will not take part in the Persian Gulf security conference in Bahrain.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), led by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has decided that no Iranian diplomat attend the gathering, the Iranian students news agency quoted him as saying.

Concerning the possible meeting of Iran’s top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili with the EU Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana, Boroujerdi said talks represent the only way to end ambiguities, of course it should be under the IAEA determined principles and the frameworks of the two sides.

Elsewhere regarding a shift in the US policy during Barack Obama’s administration, the Iranian parliamentarian said” basically Iran has not expected a shift in the US diplomacy by only a change in the US presidency; the US President is only one ring of the country’s political structure which has many rings.”

Barack Obama’s way of treatment with Iran determines Iran’s responses to the US, he said.
