Sofia. Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov received speaker of Estonian Parliament Ene Ergma, presidents’ office press office informs.
Bulgarian President greeted Ene Ergma with active political dialogue between Bulgaria and Estonia as well as for the parliamantary co-operation between two friend countries.
Georgi Parvanov pointed Bulgaria and Estonia has a general engagement to establish stable and effective EU in reference to union’s policy in good neighbor relations as well as for the successful realization to which both counties has given their valuable contribution.
Ene Ergma assessed talks her delegation had with representatives of Bulgarian Parliament as very useful. She pointed the main accent in them was the problem on Europe’s energy security. The issue has not only of actual importance but it also affects EU’s strategic security.
Ene Ergma assessed highly Bulgaria’s active policy and personally President Georgi Parvanov for the efforts on diversification of sources and routes for energy transfer towards the EU.
Georgi Parvanov and Ene Ergma expressed their satisfaction of publicly announced EC’s decision to support financially construction of Nabucco pipeline. They shared the view successful realization of this project needs active support of every EU member state.
Georgi Parvanov and Ene Ergma said during the talks both countries are ready to participate actively in the formation of EU energy policy.
Problems on energy shortage were not considered about 10 years ago. Today situation is different, Ene Ergma said.
They both agreed the increasing usage of energy power will keep as permanent tendency in future decades. This inquires European politician to take concrete decisions in this field.
