European Parliament elections will be held on June 7 in Bulgaria, President Georgi Parvanov announced Thursday.
The European Union has been officially notified of this date for Bulgaria’s MEP elections and has given it the green light, Parvanov stated.
Parvanov urged Bulgaria’s MPs to move quickly to decide on all of the election rules as in his words this should not be done at the last minute.
Bulgaria’s President also announced that the Bulgarian general election will be held on a date between June 28 and July 5, shutting the door on a possible change of heart by Bulgarian MPs regarding the ‘two votes on one day’ bill, which was rejected recently by parliament.
Parvanov concluded that he looked forward to free and fair elections that the Bulgarian nation can be proud of.
