Some 25 percent of Bulgaria’s citizens say they are ready to sell their vote ahead of parliamentary elections due in early July, a report by Open Society shows.
The good news is that only 5 percent of them would cast their ballot for the bribing party, said Open Society Executive Director Georgi Stoychev.
Eighty-four percent of all Bulgarians are of opinion that vote trade is a crime, 13 percent are convinced that it is a completely normal way to attract an electorate and 3 percent define it as an accepted practice in the European Union.
Bulgaria is holding a general election on July 5.
