“One of Georgia’s principal goals is to change demographic situation in Javakhk,” Head of Hay Dat office Kiro Manoyan told a news conference. According to him, Georgian church is also trying to assist in the process. but its attempts meet the population’s mounting protests.
Manoyan finds that Georgia is interested in Javakhk, that’s why it makes the most large-scale in the region. It is planned to launch a gas pipeline and construct a railroad there, and about 3000 workers have been invited to participate in construction work.
“Javakhk is the weakest link in Armenian-Georgian relations, whereas it should be the strongest,” the speaker stated.
