Lutfi Meets Armenian and Romanian Ambassadors to Syria, Discusses Developing Relations

DAMASCUS, Syria

Minister of Trade and Economy Amer Hossni Lutfi discussed yesterday with Armenian Ambassador to Syria Arshag Poladian the latest preparations for holding a Syrian-Armenian committee for commercial, economic, scientific and technical cooperation due to be held in Yerevan next month. 

During the meeting, the two sides asserted the importance of holding this session which will contribute to bolstering cooperation relations between the two countries in all economic, commercial, investment, scientific, technical and tourist domains.

The two sides agreed on the necessity of following up the implementation of the already-signed agreements, boosting the role of businessmen in both countries and holding co-exhibitions in a way that could increase the volume of trade exchange between Syria and Armenia.

It is expected that new agreements, understanding memos and protocols between Syria and Armenia will be signed during the committee’s upcoming session.

Lutfi also met Romanian Ambassador to Syria Dan Sandovich and discussed with him the reality of Syrian-Romanian relations and ways of boosting and developing them in all of economic fields.

The two sides underlined the importance of exchanging experiences and activating the already -signed agreements besides signing new ones in an attempt to increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.

For his part, Lutfi expressed Syria’s desire to establish better relations with Romania, hailing the role of the Romanian businessmen, investors and companies in bolstering mutual cooperation.

Sandovich underlined the interest of the Romanian side in boosting economic and developmental relations with Syria due to its important position besides the development and vitality of its economy.

The two sides agreed on preparing for the visit that the Romanian Trade Minister accompanied by an official delegation will pay to Syria for holding trade, economic and investment talks.
