MOLDOVA

The representatives of the four parties do not say what ministries will be dissolved or merged, as well as they did not speak about setting up new ministries.

The ruling coalition – the Alliance for European Integration, which consists of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (LDPM), the Liberal Party of Moldova, the Democratic Party of Moldova and the Moldova Noastra Alliance, comes out for reducing the number of ministries in the new Government. At present there are 16 such ministries.

The representatives of the four parties made this statement at their joint sitting Tuesday evening. However, they do not say what ministries will be dissolved or merged, as well as they did not speak about setting up new ministries.

Only Deputy Chairman of the Moldova Noastra Alliance Veaceslav Untila named the concrete figure – at most 12 ministries.

LDPM First Deputy Chairman Mihai Godea expressed an opinion that it is possible to diminish the number of parliamentary standing committees, which are currently ten in number. He does not rule out that the post of the First Deputy Speaker, which was instituted “unlawfully”, will disappear.

He was supported by LP Parliamentarian Anna Gutu, who said that it is necessary to reduce the number of parliamentary standing committees, as not all of them work efficiently.

DP representative, ex-Minister of Economy and Trade Valeriu Lazar was also in favor of cutting the number of ministries and parliamentary standing committees.
