Albania PM extols “historical ties” with Kuwait

BLAGOEVGRAD, Bulgaria

Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha lauded on Thursday the historical Albanian-Kuwaiti ties as an example for international strategic relations.

Berisha made the remarks in an interview with KUNA on the sidelines of a seminar organized by the NATO Club in Blagoevgrad, 100 km from the Bulgarian capital city Sofia.
He described Albanian-Kuwaiti relations as distinguished at all political, economic, social, cultural and popular levels, and based on mutual respect, friendship and cooperation.

Kuwait, through Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) and Kuwaiti investments, has contributed to the implementation of several development projects in Albania, he said.

He recalled to memory a visit by His Highness the Prime Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah to Tirana as having given a strong push to a further development and promotion of bilateral relations in all fields.

He added that his visit to Kuwait last week had also contributed to widening the scope of cooperative bonds between both nations.
