Communist Party has announced the formation of its faction in Parliament

On Thursday, the Communists submitted corresponding documents to the Parliament Secretariat.

MP Vladimir Turcan told Infotag the MCP faction consists of 48 lawmakers, who have elected Maria Postoiko, a former Deputy Speaker, as their faction chairwoman. Since the moment of the document filing with the Secretariat, the MCP faction is fully ready to work in parliament.

On Wednesday, the acting President of Moldova and MCP Chairman Vladimir Voronin stated he will step down as president next week, and will remain a rank and file parliamentarian, thus surprising many here, who thought he would become MCP faction leader.
