On Oct. 6, the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament David Bakradze and Danish Foreign Minister, Peer Sting Mouller discussed the situation in the occupied territories and the process of conflict resolution at a meeting.
Bakradze told journalists that they discussed in detail the Georgia-Russia relations and the threats that still exist in the neutralization whose active role belongs to the EU.
He said the Danish Foreign Minister had clearly stated that “The EU should fully support Georgia, not because Georgia needs it, but because the EU needs it”.
Mouller will leave for Sukhumi on Oct. 7, and, Bakradze added that he will try through direct communications to determine whether there is a possibility of establishing contacts between the parties. Although the speaker at the same time pointed out that it is “unlikely” to establish direct contacts with Abkhazia without working with Russia and the withdrawal of the Russian troops from Georgian territory.
