Georgian Azerbaijanis concerned by interference of Georgian NGOs in restoration of mosques

Georgian Azerbaijanis are concerned about religious interference of the Georgian government.

In the village of Fahrali of Bolnisi district and in several villages in Gardabani region of Georgia, densely populated by the Azerbaijanis, some non-governmental organizations in the country prevents the restoration of old mosques and the local authorities are powerless in this regard, the chairman of the Caucasus Research Center Kamran Ramazanli told reporters on Oct. 23.

According to him, in all villages of Bolnisi district still crosses are established up to the Muslim cemeteries.

Azerbaijani MP Ilyas Ismayilov made a proposal to send a letter to the Head of Caucasus Muslims Allahshukur Pashazadeh so that he would discusses this issue with the Catholicos – Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II.

Earlier, as a result of studies by Trend News, it was reported that on the territory of the village Gochulu and Kepenekchi of Bolnisi district in the province of Kvemo-Kartli (Borchali) of Georgia, mainly populated by the Azerbaijanis, the local administration of the Patriarchate of Georgia establishes crosses in the height of 7-10 meters .
