Traian Băsescu has officially taken office as President of Romania at the official ceremony on Monday and was sworn in. The ceremony was attended by the Romanian patriarch Daniel, judges from the Constitutional Court, Prime Minister Emil Boc, other members of the government, chairperson of the Supreme Court of Cassation, chairperson of the Audit Office, lawyer of the nation, directors of specialized services in the country, family of the newly elected President and representatives of the diplomatic corpus.
The sitting with be followed by another solemn sitting of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, devoted to the 2oth years anniversary of the December Revolution in Romania of 1989.
