Taler seeks for accession talks’ date in March

Slovenian EP reporter on Macedonia Zoran Taler have filed several amendments to the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs in Brussels.

Taler seeks from the EU Council of Ministers set a date for accession talks with Macedonia in March 2010.

The European Parliamentarians will discuss Taler’s amendments on January 26.

Taler’s draft-resolution, which was published months ago, is considered a balance between Macedonia and Greece.

Deutsche Welle said that none of the amendments is concerned with the name issue.

Taler hasn’t missed to salute Athens’s initiative for integration of the Western Balkans countries by 2014, the latest.

Taler said that if a date for start of accession talks is not set, that might only cause ethnic tensions in the country and might affect the stability in the region.
