EULEX chief to arrive in Belgrade

EU mission in Kosovo, EULEX, chief Yves de Kermabon is expected in Belgrade today.

He is due to meet with Minister for Kosovo and Metohija Goran Bogdanović, and officials in charge of the judiciary.

“One of the main goals of the visit,” EULEX sources said, “are talks about the reestablishing of the functioning of the District Court in northern Kosovska Mitrovica.”

The ministry said that Bogdanović and Kerambon would discuss “issues falling under EULEX’s jurisdiction”.

“All the topics falling under EULEX’s jurisdiction and relations between Belgrade and EULEX will be on the table,” the ministry said.

EULEX representatives were quoted as saying that Kerambon’s visit comes in the wake of last week’s visit by EU’s foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton.

EULEX also said that “Kosovo authorities were notified” about Kermabon’s trip to Belgrade.
