Brammertz meets with EU President

Hague Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz held an unofficial meeting with EU President Herman Van Rompuy.

Although the contents of the meeting were not disclosed, Van Rompuy’s spokesperson said that the two discussed Hague cooperation and the countries of the former Yugoslavia, but added that the details of the meeting cannot be made public.

Van Rompuy will meet in Brussels on Saturday with Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetković and Croatian President Ivo Josipović.

The topic of these talks will most likely be the EU integration efforts of Serbia and Croatia, for which full Hague cooperation is one of the main conditions for both Belgrade and Zagreb.
