Romanian FM: Romania stands for stability and security in Black Sea and Caspian basins

Romania stands for stability and security in the Black Sea and Caspian basins, Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Baconsky said in Baku yesterday.

Development of a strategic partnership with Azerbaijan is a priority for Romania, Romanian Foreign Minister said at a briefing after the talks with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov.

These issues were discussed by Foreign Ministers of the two countries during the official visit of Romanian Minister to Azerbaijan. Special attention was paid to the use of existing potential for increasing trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Romania.

Romania, being a member of the European Union, is ready to support Azerbaijan in its integration in the organization, Baconsky said.

The parties also agreed to enhance bilateral ties to hold the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation and political consultation.
