Romania is interested in implementing energy projects in the region, Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Baconsky said at a joint press conference with his Georgian counterpart Grigol Vashadze in Tbilisi today.
“We are interested in energy security. Therefore, the country follows the regional projects on gas transportation to Europe very closely,” he said.
Romania’s Foreign Minister noted that his country is interested in participating in these projects. “From this point of view we are exploring investment opportunities and offers of Georgia, which is a transit country for oil and gas supplies to Europe,” he said.
Romania intends to take part in the White Stream project to supply Caspian oil and to supply liquefied natural gas through Georgia.
