Romanian PM: Romania will continue granting Romanian citizenship to Moldovans

Romanian prime-minister, Emil Boc, refuted the rumors that Romania might suspend receiving documents for granting Romanian citizenship to Moldovans starting with April 30th 2010.

According to Boc, there is no ground for such a decision. “Romania will continue receiving documents for regaining the Romanian citizenship. In this context, the responsible structures received the order to inform the public opinion about the current situation”, declared today Romanian prime-minister.

The Romanian official also stated that until June 30th 2010 there will be open the Cahul and Balti Romanian Consulates. “By opening those two Consulates, Moldovan citizens will no longer need to come to Chisinau”, specified Boc.

He specified that in Romania there will be open five territorial offices, which will examine and process the submitted files for regaining the Romanian citizenship.
