Georgian official: It is time for Council of Europe to protect its own prestige

Georgian Parliamentary Speaker David Bakradze believes the time has come to the Council of Europe (CE) to protect its own prestige and to force Russia to fulfill the CE resolution. Bakradze said at his meeting with PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteur Matias Yorsh.

He said the meeting discussed the obligations that Moscow undertook before CE and has failed to meet them.

“The fact that Georgia fulfills its part of obligations, but Russia did not fulfill any of its obligations. The time has come to the Council of Europe to protect its prestige and force Russia to fulfill its obligations,” Bakradze said.
