Azerbaijan signs protocol with Georgia

On Wednesday, Azerbaijan plans to sign a protocol on completion of bilateral negotiations with Georgia within Azerbaijan’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), international expert on WTO membership Farhad Yovakim said in Baku today.

“Today, about 25-30 countries hold talks with Azerbaijan and are interested in launching negotiations. Azerbaijan has already signed a protocol on the completion of negotiations with the UAE, the Sultanate of Oman and Turkey, expert said.

The protocols will be signed with Kyrgyzstan and Moldova in the nearest future.

At present, Azerbaijan is in the process of negotiations with the United States, Japan, Brazil, Ecuador, Sri Lanka, European Union, Norway, India, South Korea, Chinese Province of Taiwan.

Switzerland joined these countries in 2009.

Since 1997, Azerbaijan has been presented at the World Trade Organization as an observer.
