The Republic of Moldova and Romania have signed an agreement on collaboration in social protection of Moldova citizens staying in Romania and of Romania citizens in Moldova.
Moldova’s Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Labor Valentina Buliga told a news conference today the document is called to protect the social and economic rights of Moldova citizens residing permanently or staying temporarily in Romania. These are temporary workers or staff employees, civil servants, personnel of international transportation companies, of diplomatic and consular missions and their families, etc.
According to the Agreement, citizens of Moldova working in Romania are eligible to receive social insurance allowances, including illness, maternity, invalidity allowances, old-age pensions and other.
The Republic of Moldova has already concluded such social protection agreements with Bulgaria and Portugal, and is now in negotiations with the Czech Republic and Luxemburg.
