Moldova’s acting President Mihai Ghimpu will take part in the European Conference of Heads of Parliament that will take place in the Cyprian town of Limassol during June 10-12.
As many as 350 officials from 47 countries are expected to participate in the conference. The main subjects for discussion will be: the rights and responsibilities of the Opposition in Parliament, and the role of the parliamentary institutions in ensuring the observance of the human rights at international level.
Mihai Ghimpu will deliver a speech and will take part in a news conference at the end of the conference. While in Cyprus, Mihai Ghimpu will have bilateral meetings with the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Mevlüt Çavusoglu, the Chairman of the Chamber of Representatives of Cyprus Marios Garoyian, and the Speaker of the Polish Senate Bogdan Borusewicz.
When returning from Cyprus, Mihai Ghimpu will stop in Athens to meet representatives of the Moldovan community in Greece.
