German Foreign Minister: Germany to insist on talks about Transnistrian conflict

German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle has stated during his visit in Moldova Germany will intervene so that the negotiations on the Transnistrian conflict are resumed as soon as possible. Westerwelle said the whole Europe was interested in solving the conflict and wanted to use the moment and take a step towards its settlement. “Europe can have an important role as a mediator in order to solve this conflict”, said the German official.

He appreciated Moldova’s efforts within the Eastern Partnership and mentioned the dialogue regarding EU visa liberalization, besides the association treaty with EU, would enhance the bilateral relationship.
