OSCE Parliamentary Assembly supports resolution on Georgia

The Migration Committee of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly considered a resolution providing for the unconditional return of refugees to the territories split from Georgia – Abkhazia and South Ossetia. The resolution was initiated by Goran Lennmarker, OSCE PA President’s Special Representative for the South Caucasus.

The document calls on the parties to cooperate, find “ways for the early voluntary return of refugees and internally displaced people in safety and dignity.”

The resolution was supported by a majority of the OSCE member-countries. MPs from Russia voted against.
