The United State and Slovenia call for Macedonia’s NATO entry in November

The United State and Slovenia believe it’s time to work out a deal that would enable Macedonia to secure NATO membership invitation and launch of EU accession talks.

Slovenian news agency STA says the pledges were expressed by Slovenian Foreign Minister Samuel Zbogar and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, when the two met in Washington on Wednesday.

“As regards Macedonia, we both believe that it’s time for a deal that will enable Macedonia to receive an invitation for NATO membership in November, and starting date for EU entry talks in December,” Zbogar told Slovenian media after the meeting with Clinton.

He added that Macedonia was among the topics of discussion with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon during a meeting earlier this week.
