Bavarian Federal and European Affairs Minister Emilia Muller said in Belgrade that Germany will provide all the necessary support to Serbia on its EU path. He added that Berlin is interested in strengthening economic cooperation with Belgrade.
In a meeting with Muller, Prime Minister Mirko Cvetković said EU integration is a priority for Serbia, stressing that all Western Balkan countries should be integrated into the EU as soon as possible. Cvetković further said great potential exists to intensify bilateral economic cooperation by increasing trade and particularly through investment.
Germany, he went on to say, is very important to Serbia, both as a political and economic partner. As successful examples, Cvetković cited the cooperation with the German States of Bavaria and Baden-Wurttemberg. On Oct. 20, Parliament Speaker Slavica Đukić-Dejanović met with a Bundestag delegation, headed by MP Christel Happach-Kasan.
The German delegation arrived in Belgrade for the continuation of the Bundestag-sponsored five-month stay of young highly qualified people in Berlin, where they will learn about the German parliamentary system and garner parliamentary experience.
