Serbian authorities to receive EC questionnaire next week

EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fuele will hand the Serbian authorities an EC questionnaire on European reforms next week. It will serve as the basis for a later EC evaluation of Serbia’s readiness to be granted candidacy status.

The European commissioner stressed that, in addition to implementing reforms in the country “an accommodating approach to Kosovo’s participation in regional trade and cooperation is also important for Serbia.”

The EU commissioner also stated that the organization’s enlargement to include the Western Balkans is in the interest of the EU since it strengthens peace and stability in all of Europe.
