Georgia has a new ambassador to Azerbaijan

The Georgian Parliament approved Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Azerbaijan Teimuraz Sharashenidze on Friday.

Teimuraz Sharashenidze previously served as consul general to Istanbul, he is a career diplomat. 

Sharashenidze said after his appointment that his main target will be to support dynamism in the Georgian-Azerbaijani relations. “Georgian-Azerbaijani relations are characterized by dynamism, which is an achievement of the leaders of the two countries, and my goal is to support this dynamic relationship, the more that our countries have many common interests,” he said.

The new ambassador believes that special attention should be paid to cooperation in transport and energy spheres.
