The Georgian authorities once again express their desire to cooperate with the Russian side to consider the case of the terrorist attacks in the country. “One can say that Georgia has avoided serious terrorist attacks, Manana Manjgaladze, spokesperson for the president, said today at a briefing.
“The Georgian government once again expresses its full readiness to cooperate with the Russian relevant departments in investigating this case. However, the President once again thanked the law enforcement officers, who were able to prevent a serious threat to the population,” Manjgaladze said.
The group, carrying out several bombings in September – November, was detained in Georgia on December 4. According to the investigators, the group was instructed and controlled by Russian military from the occupied territory of Abkhazia.
There were two explosions in Tbilisi on November 28. The first blasted in the Javakhishvili street near the office of the Labour party at 2:00.
The blast killed a 58-year-old Nino Gordeziani. She was the active member of the Labour party. Another five people, including a child, were injured.
The explosion took place in Tbilisi, on the territory adjacent to the building of the U.S. Embassy in Georgia on September 22. An explosive device was found about 40 meters from the entrance to the embassy, under the cemetery wall.
