Moldova has a new government

The Moldovan parliamentary majority, in the person of the Alliance for European Integration consisting of the Liberal Democratic Party (32 mandates), Democratic Party (15) and Liberal Party (12), on Friday (January 14th) passed a vote of confidence in a new Government of Prime Minister Vladimir Filat and its Work Program.

The opposition Communist faction of 42 voted against both.

Most ministers from the Filat Government-1 have preserved their posts in the new team, and only 5 ministers in the Cabinet of 16 are new people.

The largest number of ministers, 7, represent the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova. The LDPM has thus preserved its three essential ministers – of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, of Justice and of Finance.
