ECHR to hold a hearing on Georgia’s suit against Russia

European Court of Human Rights will hold today a hearing on Georgia’s suit lodged with the Court’s Registry against the Russian Federation.

The case concerns the alleged harassment of the Georgian immigrant population in the Russian Federation following the arrest in Tbilisi on September 27, 2006, of four Russian service personnel on suspicion of espionage against Georgia.

Georgian citizens, alleged to be illegally deported from Russia, representatives of Russian side, independent experts and a PACE member will testify in court, according to Rosbalt.
