PACE President will visit Moldova

The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Mevlut Çavuşoğlu will pay an official visit to Moldova on February 8 and 9, at the invitation of Head of Parliament Marian Lupu.

The European official will have meetings with senior state officials and the leaders of the parliamentary groups to discuss possibilities of avoiding a new round of early legislative elections if the head of state is not elected.

The program of the official visit includes private meetings with Head of Parliament and Moldova’s Acting President Marian Lupu, Prime Minister Vlad Filat, Foreign Affairs Minister Iurie Leanca and with the parliamentary group leaders Ion Hadarca, of the PL, Dumitru Diacov, of the PDM, Mihai Godea, of the PLDM, and Maria Postoico, of the PCRM.
