Croatia is very close to wrap up the EU talks

Croatia is increasing efforts to combat corruption, and push through other reforms, Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor told European deputy Hannes Swoboda on Monday.

Kosor told the visiting MEP Swoboda, who is the European Parliament Rapporteur for Croatia, that her government is intensively implementing its action plan, based on the European Commission’s interim report on Croatia’s progress towards EU membership, and is currently focused on combating corruption and reducing the backlog of court cases.

Zagreb is in the final phase of its negotiations for EU membership, and is expected to wrap up the talks, which are divided into chapters by subject, by this summer.
