Stefan Fule: Serbia may get EU member state candidate status by end-2011

It is possible for Serbia to obtain a status of EU member state candidate by the end of the year, said European Commissioner for Enlargement Stefan Fule.

The European Commissioner also expressed his hope that the EU will make no difference between the member state status and the beginning of the pre-accession talks.

“It is all up to Serbia,” Fule said.
