French Interior Minister in Bulgaria for Schengen Talks

Bulgaria’s Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, is meeting Monday with the French Minister of Interior, Claude Gueant, who will be on an official visit to Sofia.

Gueant is also going to be in Bucharest in neighboring Romania.

The focus of the visits is the perspectives of Romania and Bulgaria to join the Schengen zone and partnership in the fight against organized crime.

“We continue to actively seek dialogue with the European Union Member States, which have objections about our Schengen entry,” Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov pointed out recently.

Gueant’s visit is on Tsvetanov’s invitation.
