Cypriot leaders met to discuss international agreements

Turkish Cypriot President Derviş Eroğlu and Greek Cypriot leader Dimitris Christofias have agreed on terms of international agreement. The leaders met on Thursday in Lefkoşa to discuss international agreements as well as internal security, fishery and search and rescue topics in sea.

Eroğlu said leaders have also established a committee of experts along with the special envoys in a statement he made after the talks.

Eroğlu and Christofias regularly meet almost for a year to find an enduring peace settlement for the long-divided island yet with few tangible results.

Special representatives will meet next Tuesday and the leaders will meet on May 12, Eroğlu said.
