CoE delegation in Moldova for pre-electoral visit

A delegation of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, headed by Britt-Marie Lövgren, Sweden (ILDG), will carry out a pre-electoral mission to Moldova, in view of the upcoming local elections scheduled for 5 June 2011.

The pre-election delegation will meet representatives of political parties, members of the Moldovan delegation to the Congress as well as representatives of international organisations, NGOs and media. A larger Congress delegation – including members of the EU-Committee of the Regions – will be in the country from 1 to 6 June to observe the elections.
