Pristina says Belgrade is delaying negotiation talks

Kosovo’s foreign minister Enver Hoxhaj on Wednesday accused Serbia of stalling tactics similar to those employed in the hunt for Ratko Mladic to delay any outcome of Belgrade’s talks with Pristina.

“As far as we can see, Belgrade’s approach is to stall, to waste time and not to arrive at effective solutions,” Hoxhaj said.

“It is like with (former Bosnian Serb army chief) Ratko Mladic who was arrested after 16 years (…) he was arrested practically at the last minute”, he said.

“I think Serbia has the same approach to the Kosovo talks. It will keep stalling as long as possible to come up with a solution in the final phase.”

Recently the continuation of talks aimed at improving the daily lives of citizens on both sides affected by the ongoing stand off between Serbia and its breakaway southern province was pushed back from mid-June to the end of the month.
