Balkan Presidents call for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue

The leaders of Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania and Kosovo called on Tuesday for a dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade that would step up the region’s integration into the EU and NATO.

“An open dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina is in the interest of the good quality of relations in the region,” Montenegrin President Filip Vujanovic said at a summit gathering the leaders of the four Balkan countries in Macedonia.

Vujanovic said ongoing European Union-sponsored technical talks between Belgrade and Pristina should also be accompanied with a dialogue “at the highest level and under EU patronage” between the Kosovo president Atifete Jahjaga and Serbian leader Boris Tadic.
