UN urges Serbia and Kosovo to improve dialogue

The United Nations has recommended that representatives from Serbia and Kosovo engage in more voluntary dialogue to improve relations, a leaked United Nations report has shown.

Within the 24-page report, which charts the UN’s mission in Kosovo, secretary general Ban Ki Moon states that relations between Kosovo and Serbia will progress further if both sides meet outside of the formal dialogue process.

It cites Serb head of delegation Borislav Stefanovic’s visit to Pristina in early May as one example of this.

The report went on to urge all sides in the area to refrain from actions that could undermine the progress of the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia and be counterproductive.

The secretary general praised recent dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia which had produced concrete results on the subjects of mobility and education.
